Rugby365.com launches UK version
Rugby365.com is evolving; later this month the world's leading rugby website will be launching its very own UK version in order to offer our loyal readers across the globe the very best and extensive rugby coverage.
But fear not our 'regular' southern hemisphere readers - nothing will change for you! In fact, the launch of this new UK site will make your visits to rugby365.com even more enjoyable. With a new dedicated team focused entirely on all rugby issues from Europe, and across the world, providing quality news, rugby365’s global content will simply add to your overall online experience.
In-depth coverage of the Guinness Premiership, Magners League and the Heineken Cup as well as France's Top 14 will ensure all your European club rugby needs are taken care of, whilst the upcoming autumn internationals and the 2009 RBS Six Nations will cater for all your Test rugby requirements.
Of course, looking ahead to 2009, the British & Irish Lions tour of South Africa looms as the ultimate grudge series - the world champion Springboks against the finest players the British Isles has to offer.
In 1997, the Lions beat the then world champs on their own turf; now, 12 years later, and with traditional rugby tours virtually a thing of the past, the Lions class of 2009 is ready to carve out its own niche in rugby history. And, after a record number of website visits in both 2001 and 2005, when the Lions toured Australia and NZ respectively, we are looking to carve out a niche of our own!
At the same time, however, we will not neglect any of the non-stop southern hemisphere news, with our regular rugby365 team still providing up-to-date news, views and analysis on the Tri-Nations, the Super 14 and domestic competitions like the Currie Cup and the Air New Zealand Cup.
All in all, expect a smoother, more enjoyable ride with loads more news, features, interviews and great opinions from SA regulars, former Bok centre Robbie Fleck and in-house columnist Steve Farrell. The 'SA version' is still under the watchful eye of long-time editor Jan de Koning, who has been nominated as one of the three SA Rugby Writers of the Year in 2008.
The 'UK version', meanwhile, will fall under the tutelage of Peter Murison and Nick Pawson, with England flyhalf Andy Goode penning a weekly column and a host of other exciting personalities and names set to get on board!
Be sure to keep coming back to rugby365.com for all that you already enjoy, and also for much more new and exciting features which lie ahead - starting with this launch!
